Treassa Thomas is the daughter of Tanya C. Stern and Harvey E. Stern. She is a native of Harrisburg, PA. Treassa has two beautiful daughters name Champale and Nikoi. YaZmine Dance Director, Founder, and African Instructor Treassa “Nikki” Thomas began training with the Harrisburg Arts Magnet School in 1990. Treassa won the Christina M. Carter Memorial Scholarship Award in 1993. While studying at Pennsylvania State University Treassa continued to train with the Nommo Performing Arts from 1995-1998 and was a member of the Black Caucus. Treassa received her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Services in 1998. |
Treassa worked for the Harrisburg School District as a Guidance Counselor from 1999 to 2000. During her time there she gained a better insight for the inter-city student and their needs.
In 2000 Treassa served as Assistant Director, Modern/African instructor at Prazon Dance Company. Her tenure at Prazon continued until 2007when she stepped out on faith and founded YaZmine Dance Company.
Treassa has also trained with Philadanco II (Philadelphia Dance Company) in 2002. She has a wide range of dance techniques such as; African, Ballet, Modern, and Hip-Hop but specializes in West African and Dunham style technique.
As a co-founder of a local dance group for several years called “Phierce”, she performed with Tre Songz, Dru Hill, Case, Chris Brown, Fabulous, Peabo Bryson, Mario and a number of other artists along the East Coast.
Treassa has also worked for LA Fitness from 2006 to 2008 as a Hip-Hop fitness instructor. Treassa also holds several fitness and bodybuilding titles and she plans to complete in one more competition before the age of 40.
Currently Treassa works for Keystone Children and Family Services as the Service Director for the Therapeutic Foster Care and CRR- Host Home Programs. She also conducts numerous trainings i.e.; First Aid & CPR, Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention, Fire and Driver Safety, HIPAA and Corporate Compliance.
Treassa talents and gifts have not gone unrecognized. She was recently nominated for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. Nu Sigma Zeta Chapter of Harrisburg, PA Archonette Youth Group’s 2012 “Awesome Educator Award.”
Her vision is to help the intercity children and adults use their creative minds through dance.

Surae sanksSurae Sanks, Instructor/Assistant Director/ Costume Coordinator
Surae Sanks The daughter of Kenneth Towles and Melinda Macon was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pa. She has been dancing since birth. Surae has taught for YaZmine Dance since it was established in 2007. Surae was a guest dancer with the Prazon Dance Company in previous years. She was also one of the original members of the dance group “Phierce”. With Phierce she has performed with artist such as Trey Songz, Dru Hill, Case, Chris Brown, Fabulous, Mario, and Peabo Bryson as well as local artist along the east coast. Surae was chosen by the Camp Curtin YMCA to facilitate a dance camp in the summer of 2012 which was a success and she also serves as the leader of the Wings of Worship dance ministry at United Baptist Church where she has been a member all her life. Ms. Sanks was also selected to facilitate Literary Arts Program for kindergarten children in the Harrisburg school District under the Terpsichore Educational Consulting Group based out of New Jersey. Surae worked for the Pa. Dept of Transportation for 9 years, prior to deciding that was not her career. Surae returned to the classroom at Harrisburg Area Community College and is now a pre-school teacher at McLamb Memorial Daycare. She has decided to continue her journey of higher education and pursue a Human Services Degree in the fall with the ending result of being a mobile therapist. Surae is the mother to Ajahnae Sanks, who is very dedicated to God, her family, school, and dance. Surae has a positive outlook on life no matter the situation and applies it to her life in the hopes that it will encourage others to do the same. Surae was recently awarded the Awesome Educator Award by the Zeta Phi Beta Auxiliary group the Archonettes. With her continued gifts, talents and spirit this will not be the last time someone will recognize her. |

Delores Emerson has 3 beautiful children in her life that can follow in her footsteps! For the past 16 years she has taught various styles of hip hop to children and adults in the community. As co-founding member of dance the group "Phierce" she has performed with such artist as Tre Songz, Dru Hill, Case, Chris Brown, Fabulous, Mario and a number of other artists. Dance is not Delores only gift, she has been a professional hairstylist for over 20 years. Delores has continued her education at Harrisburg Area Community College in the following subjects, psychology, biological science and biology.
